Static Load Case Study: A Wall Bracket
A bracket holding 50 kg looks simple — until you ask where it fails. A static load study tells you before you build.

A wall-mounted bracket holding 50 kg looks simple — until you ask where it actually fails. A static load study tells you before you build it.
The setup
Fix the mounting face, apply a downward force at the load point, and read the stress distribution. The peak stress concentrates at the inner corner of the bend — exactly where a sharp inside radius usually lives.
- Peak stress at the bend corner
- Stress drops fast away from the corner
- Fasteners see prying loads, not just shear
The fix is a 30-cent change: increase the inside bend radius and add a small fillet. Peak stress drops roughly 40%, and the bracket stops failing in testing.
