The Challenge
The goal was to develop a simple and practical golf club cleaning tool that players could use directly on the course. The product needed to stay fixed in the ground, allow easy one-handed or club-assisted use, and clean the club head efficiently without requiring electrical complexity or bulky supporting equipment.
The Approach
Developed a compact ground-mounted brush tool with an integrated spiked base for stable placement in the turf. The cleaning concept is based on a rotating brush mechanism that is activated by pressing on the rear of the device using the golf club. A second press stops the motion. The design focused on user convenience, compact packaging, mechanical simplicity, manufacturability, and a practical product form suitable for outdoor sports use. Special attention was given to ground-fixing stability using spikes, press-actuated brush rotation, an easy stopping mechanism, compact product geometry, outdoor usability, a low-part-count mechanical design, manufacturability and cost awareness, and user-friendly operation during play.
The Outcome
Delivered a production-ready product concept for a golf club cleaning brush that combines stable ground mounting with a simple mechanical actuation concept. The design provides golfers with a convenient way to clean club heads during play while supporting a compact, practical, and manufacturable product solution.
