The Challenge
The goal was to develop a flexible automated system for producing stuffed dates. The machine needed to handle the dates carefully, position them consistently, remove the seed, and then support different stuffing processes depending on the final product. The same machine concept was developed to work with two different filling applications: whole nuts and peanut butter / soft fillings.
The Approach
Developed a custom date-processing machine that integrates product feeding, positioning, seed removal, stuffing, and product transfer into one coordinated system. For nut-filled products, the system inserts a solid nut into the opened date after seed removal. For peanut butter products, the stuffing section is adapted to dispense a controlled quantity of soft filling into the date. The machine architecture was designed around modular processing stations so the stuffing method can be adapted according to the required product. The engineering focused on reliable date positioning, controlled seed removal, consistent stuffing, gentle product handling, food-processing suitability, easy mechanical access, manufacturability, and modular machine design.
The Outcome
Delivered a production-ready custom machine concept capable of automating date pitting and stuffing for multiple product variations. The design reduces manual handling and creates a repeatable process for producing premium stuffed dates using either whole nuts or soft fillings such as peanut butter.
